Fresh out of school, new hire Justin Huffenberger is temporarily stunned and disoriented by the light at the end of the university tunnel.

"Exactly how long were you home schooled?"

"It works as long as the teacher doesn't call on you."

High School

"Have a nice day harvesting data, honey."

"That's O.K., Dad. I think I'll do with the ambient waterfall sounds tonight."

'Me, I'm home-schooled: Getting to and from school was taking too much of my time...'

"I had it all figured out. Sleep late, watch TV, play all day...then kindergarten happened."

They were right. Life did get better after middle school.

'Do I have to enter a plea?'

'You are new here, aren't you?'

'Talk about being scared straight...I just found out that being held back a grade is not an urban myth.'

'I'd like to change my major from electrical engineering to English or something.'

Quit texting! This is a lovely campus. Turn around. Let's go. We just drove 5 hours. What's the problem? Umm

"Yeah, I used to look forward to Spring too sis, but now, Mum says I'm old enough to help with Spring cleaning..."

Anyhow, thanks for listening, Rudy. It's part of the job. I guess you're right: the move to 3rd grade is a big one. There are lots of changes. You've just got to roll with it. And buy a new video game console? It eases any transition. How did you get to be so smart? Playing lots of video games.

Since we started online classes, I've had to get through a long, slow lesson every day. Me too. I constantly have to teach my parents how to use technology.

'Listen to this school supplies list for Timmy next year!. . . Graphing calculator, chemistry goggles, lacrosse shin guards and an ipad.'

"Being in education, I'm very athletic — I'm a political football, a punching bag, and a hurdle jumper."
